When a person sustains trauma from car accidents, gunshot wounds, altercations, or other extreme experiences, it may be necessary to undergo surgery to correct anything from a jaw/skull fracture to complex soft tissue injuries.
Depending on the injury, the procedure will take place in either the office or in an operating room. Should the procedure take place in the hospital, the patient will have general anesthesia and may be required to stay overnight depending on the injury.
